This is the time period where, like human babies, dogs are soaking up everything they are learning. Socializing your dog as early as possible can help curb behavioral issues that can arise.
Can I Socialize My Unvaccinated Dog?
Do: In a safe and controlled environment, with dogs who have been screened.
Don’t: In a public space with unfamiliar dogs.
If you really want to socialize your dog early, make sure to do it very carefully. You don’t want to expose your pup to something that could potentially harm them. Screen any dogs your puppy will come into contact with to make sure they are up-to-date on vaccinations, and that they don’t have behavioral issues that could negatively affect your pup.
Socializing Your Puppy To A New Environment
Exposing your pup to new stimuli is just as important as exposing them to other dogs and people. Dogs who are regularly exposed to new things are less likely to develop anxious/scared behavior when faced with new things in the future.
