A dog’s love is flawless because they live in the present. There are no expectations, no conditions to our love. We don’t give a damn if you’re Muslim, Christian, Agnostic, Atheist, where you’re from or what you do. Our love is not based on dependence, what you do for us, or how you make us feel. We don’t compartmentalize, conceptualize, or try to find meaning in everything. To us, everything is what it is. We don’t define. We don’t blame. A dog’s love is based on trust. We trust quickly, and even when you fail, we continue with certainty because we are only living in the moment. And when abandoned or abused, there is no bitterness, only forgiveness. Our resilience makes us love again with no fear. Love is automatic to us, for the past and the future do not exist. We blossom through love, and live in a constant state of gratitude. Each scratch of the ears, each snow flake, each raindrop, wind, sun, each boring piece of kibble, and each breath–everything is stunning to us. Our essence and purpose is love. We love life. We love recklessly, unreasonably, and fearlessly. You humans should tap into this, because it’s magnificently pure. Be a dog. We rock.
